The Oceanogràfic is an aquarium with the largest number of different species in the world. It shows the planet’s most important marine ecosystems, together with an underwater auditorium, an underwater restaurant and one of the largest dolphinariums in the world.

The Oceanogràfic consists of different buildings housing representations of the most important oceanographic ecosystems: Mediterranean, swamps, warm and tropic atmospheres, oceans, Antarctic, Arctic, islands, Red Sea.

A spectacular building designed by Santiago Calatrava, it represents a huge human eye, “The eye of wisdom”, which symbolises how we can see the world, which visitors discover through surprising audio visual projections.

It has a concave 900 square metre screen, 24 metres in diameter, used for different projections. Ask when you visit the site.

One of the buildings, designed as a multifunctional space for housing different events.

It consists of a garden and vantage point over the old course of the river Turia, from where you can see the City of Art and Science and all its buildings, walkways and gardens.

It houses “Paseo de las Esculturas”, an outdoor art gallery with the work of contemporary sculptors.

This is the great museum of the 21st century, where the evolution of life, science and technology is seen in an educational, interactive and entertaining way based on its slogan: “Touch, feel and think”.

One of its highlights is a 30-metre long Foucault’s pendulum, one of the longest in the world, and its building surrounded by 13,500 square metres of sheets of water.
