What are the “Fallas” of Valencia?

“Fallas” are huge cardboard figures displayed all over the city, representing a satirical view of different current affairs. They compete for different prizes.
“Fallas” is held from 15th to 19th March; every year, the city of Valencia is invaded by hundreds of “fallas”, small and large, until the 19th of March, the day of the “cremà”, when these huge cardboard monuments are burnt in front of hundreds of tourists and locals.
